World Qigong Day

  • Temple on the park 158 Australia Street Newtown, NSW, 2042 Australia (map)

World Qigong Day is part of a growing international movement dedicated to sharing gentle movement meditations, mindfulness, and traditional Chinese wisdom for health and wellbeing. Across the world, people gather on this day to practise together, learn from experienced teachers, and celebrate Qigong as a living tradition for modern life.

This Sydney event offers a welcoming space to come together in that same spirit — to move, breathe, learn, and reconnect.

Qigong is a slow, mindful movement practice that works with breath, posture, and attention to support physical ease, emotional balance, and a calmer, clearer state of mind. It can be done both standing and seated and is accessible for all ages and body types, and can be adapted whether you are completely new to the practice or already have experience.

This half-day gathering offers both practical experience and deeper understanding of the foundations of Qigong.

Participants will receive a guided class with two highly experienced teachers, Carol Man and Adam Wiltshire, followed by a talk exploring the core principles of Qigong and Chinese medicine philosophy. This provides an opportunity not only to practise, but to better understand how Qigong supports the nervous system, movement, breath, and emotional regulation in everyday life.

Many people are drawn to Qigong because they’re noticing ongoing tension, stiffness, fatigue, poor sleep, mental overload, or simply a desire to feel more at ease in their body and mind. Others come seeking greater presence, deeper awareness, or a more embodied approach to health, spirituality, and wellbeing.

Qigong is especially supportive for those who feel tired, depleted, or low in energy. Its gentle movements and breath‑based practices help cultivate and replenish your life force, allowing your system to rebuild from the inside out. Over time, this creates a sense of steadiness, vitality, and inner nourishment — the foundation for living with more clarity, ease, and overflow.

This event is designed to be both gentle and meaningful — offering movement, reflection, and insight in a supportive group setting.

Whether you are curious about Qigong for the first time, returning to practice, or wishing to deepen your understanding, World Qigong Day offers a grounded and inspiring place to explore.
