Day 10 Yang Sheng
Take a look at the organ clock below and check in with yourself — what does it look like for you during this time? What activities are you doing?
In Five Element Theory, the Heart is associated with the Fire element. As the yin organ of Fire, the Heart governs all emotions and is considered the “emperor” of the organ system. When Heart Fire becomes excessive or overheated, it can create physical and emotional disturbance. Imbalances in the Heart meridian may show up as extreme joy or sadness, raised blood pressure, palpitations, shortness of breath, anxiety, or insomnia.
The therapeutic approach focuses on calming the heart fire and reducing stress in Summer, or whenever there is irregular heart rhythm, mental restlessness, or agitation. When the mind is regulated, the Heart is regulated — and vice versa.
Heart energy peaks at 11am - 1pm, which is when the heart meridian is on duty. This is the time for:
△ lunch
△ emotional regulation
△ reduce stress
△ social interaction
How to nourish your heart Qi: Stay in a stress‑free zone and surround yourself with nature, love, and joy. Take a siesta. Do things that make you happy and help your emotions stay calm and stable. Moderate your intake of caffeine, intense exercise, or anything that creates excess heat.
When your heart is on fire, you may experience heat, mental emotional disturbance and reslessness. This Qigong practice help to tame the heart fire with purging, toning and regulating the heart energy. Balancing the fire and water element to clear mental restlessness.
